Project Description: Fitz&Knox is the regeneration of the former Cardiff HQ of Legal & General into a mixed-use development including 208 co-living apartments and ground floor commercial space. 

The development provides homes suitable for the next generation of people looking for high quality but affordable rent in the city centre. Fitz & Knox includes significant residents only amenity space including gym, spa, library, communal lounge and private dining amongst other shared spaces.

Full planning approval was received in Q1 2024, with construction starting on site shortly after. Alongside the unique challenge of repurposing of the existing building and working within an existing footprint, the building was extended by two storeys vertically to allow for further accommodation on the upper floors and two rooftop terraces enjoying stunning views of the city. The existing brick facade was improved with additional treatment of vertical fins, cladding and window surrounds and the vertical extension was finished in a dark grey standing seam cladding.

The building is being designed with sustainability in mind, including a significant array of PV on the roof space and Air Source Heat Pumps providing hot water.
