Expedite is proud to be a sponsor of Building Plymouth’s STEAMFest, an educational event held at The Box and Arts University, Plymouth.

As part of this event, members of our multi-disciplinary team will be participating in ‘Mission Mammoth’ – a task that engages the minds of the young students attending to explore the built environment through the lens of the prehistoric giants.

The task focuses on Mildred the Mammoth who lives in The Box. Mildred wants her friends to come and visit Plymouth with a view to moving there. The students are tasked with designing and building a landmark in the city or surrounding area that will encourage more visitors to the city.

Students are encouraged to take part in interactive zones exploring key elements of construction. These include mechanical and electrical systems for comfort and safety, sustainable materials and design techniques for building mammoth homes, and landscaping ideas that even consider how to compost mammoth waste!

Expedite will be represented at the event by Mike Hallam, Gavin Wright, Kristina Parry, Matthew Ireland, Gian Cadeddu, and Naomi Symons – each bringing their expertise and enthusiasm in their different disciplines to support the next generation of construction professionals.
